Biography:
Amir a Southern California tournament professional with a funny and charming personality. Did spent a good deal of time poker tutoring actor Ben Affleck. The thing that separates Amir at the tables is the fact that he says he is not the best No Limit player in the world, he knows that he is not the best Omaha player in the world, but he also knows that he is a great tournament player.
He isn't playing poker to survive, but he plays to win. Amir doesn't want sixteenth or thirteenth place, he wants first. His unpredictable style makes it very difficult for players to read him easily. And he is not afraid to put his money out there and let other players know who the boss is.
Amir Vahedi is probably best known as Ben Affleck’s poker coach and deserves much of the credit for Ben’s first place finish in the California Championship in 2003. Amir’s style of playing is very aggressive. He was ranked the 1st tournament player of the year in 2003.
A lot of people enjoy watching Vahedi’s play. He has a very attractive personality and good sense of humor and that’s why ladies like him. However, a lot of men like him too because they say it is not very difficult to knock him out of the table. “He bluffs too much,” says one of those who had a chance to play against Amir. “He puts too many plays on and when you do that you will get bit more than you bite,” says the other.

“You wanna mess with me, it's going to cost you,” he says. Aggressive style is not very popular among high-class players, that’s why most his opponents say he’s “unpredictable”. It’s fun to play against him. “If he happens to take my chips, I am at least laughing when he does it,” states Shirley Rosario, the famous lady in the world of poker.
Which is not appreciated about Amir Vahedi is his smoking habit. “A lot of top notch pros look to get in chip wars against each other and forget that the real threat is Amir, who’s smoking his cigar in non-smoking cardroom,” they say.
