In another post, we established that becoming emotional in a game is a big no no. When you see yourself tilting, quit. Of course being in a very subjective position, you will not always see that you are actually tilting.
[...] The internet is buzzing with news about the new law signed by President Bush called the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006. Smokepoker.com and the Blackjack Advisor as well as countless blogs and news sources have posted their own reports, opinions, and analysis about the new law. Though I won’t be the first, and just as sure not the last, to write about the topic I can’t help but give my two cents. [...]

[...] Lastly, do not place too much value on your hand. A prime example would be when a beginner gets a suited hand. Simply because it is suited doesn’t mean you should play it. If it’s a pair then by all means do so. If not, then you have to do some rethinking. Check our post about starting hands for more information on this. [...]

Great article and very informative from the setting up side of things.

Bear in mind that there are some great websites that make organizing a home poker tournament a lot easier - like my site - http://www.pokerDIY.com.

I think free services like this will take the pain out of home games and allow you to find like-minded players etc. The League system is also good for tracking score over a series of home games.

Keep it up!
